An interesting evolutionary theory I heard just the other day as to why all Russian men sort of look a bit like trolls where as Russian women tend to look really quite delicious; apparently it has to do with the fact that generation after generation of healthy Russian men have all been sent off to fight in wars and so their healthy genes are removed from the gene pool and only the physically repulsive males have been adding their rotten ones to said gene pool - so while the male genes are essentially de-evolving the female gene pool has flourished because Russian women, at least in the cities live a rather pampered lifestyle. Thus Russian blokes tend to look, well, like Andrey Arshavin, sort of midgety and troll faced (beautiful in his own right though) and the woman folk look like Maria Sharapova.
